Iar0EAs, the City of Waterloo applied for the F.Y. 2002
F1L-960 Enforcement Block Grant, and

WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo was awarded said grant by the
;UIS . `Department of Justice in the amount of $86, 688 . 00, and

WHEREAS, said F.Y. 2002 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant in
the amount of $86, 688 . 00 requires a ten percent local match of
$9, 632 . 00, and
WHEREAS, an Advisory Committee has approved the following
uses for said grant :
Waterloo Police Department $61, 688 . 00
Overtime Equipment for Community
Policing Projects
Black Hawk County Attorney $ 5, 000. 00
Criminal Prosecution Audio/Video Computer
Enhancement Equipment
Waterloo Community Schools $10, 000. 00
Expand East High and West High Security
Video Equipment
District Court 1st Judicial $ 5, 000. 00
Criminal Trial Audio Courtroom Equipment
Enhancements
Neighborhood Service/Community Development $ 5, 000. 00
Summer Youth Crime Prevention Program for
UNITY Neighborhood Association, Grant
Elementary School and Jesse Cosby Center
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the above allocation of grant in the
amount of $86, 688 . 00 from the U.S. Department of Justice in
conjunction with the F.Y. 2002 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant
Program, be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the required ten percent local
match will be provided by the Waterloo Community Schools and
Black Hawk County Attorney.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of July, 2002 .
