tx"" WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, by
Resolutiort No. 2002-486 approved definitive criteria for the
R; -411,etti:n4 of City projects as they relate to the goal of Minority
ct;,Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE)
rtcepation in those projects; and

E n7EREAS, it is important that the Waterloo Commission on
Human Rights as well as the Iowa Civil Rights Commission work
jointly with the Contract Compliance Officer in ensuring that all
reasonable and good faith efforts are made to foster the
participation of MBE' s and WBE' s in City projects in order that
the minimum goal of ten percent (10%) MBE and two percent (2%)
WBE set out in the City of Waterloo MBE/WBE Contract Compliance
Program (Program) are met; and
WHEREAS, to the above end, the Iowa Civil Rights Commission
and the Waterloo Commission on Human Rights may assist as
educational and training resources in matters within the scope of
their authority in order that they can be an impetus to increase
the participation of minority and women disadvantaged business
enterprises in City-awarded construction contracts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, that:
1 . The Waterloo Commission on Human Rights and the Iowa Civil
Rights Commission may work jointly with the Contract
Compliance Officer to ensure that all reasonable and good
faith efforts are made to foster the participation of MBE' s
and WBE' s in City projects in order that the minimum goal of
ten percent (10%) MBE and two percent (2%) WBE set out in
the City of Waterloo MBE/WBE Contract Compliance Program
(Program) are met.
2 . The Iowa Civil Rights Commission and the Waterloo Commission
on Human Rights may assist as educational and training
