• c r' T WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa has determined the need
(f to encourage and participate in economic development projects
that will benefit the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, and
.:State of Iowa, and

C WHEREAS, the Grout Museum District has taken steps to
develop the Sullivan Brothers project and plan to submit an
application for Community Attraction and Tourism funds from the
Iowa. Department of Economic Development (IDED) , and
WHEREAS, the proposed project would enhance cultural
opportunities, generate tourism and enhance the overall quality
of life for the residents of the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, and the State of Iowa, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo has
heretofore approved the general concept of the Sullivan Brothers
project and now desires to formally state its support of the
project and submission of an application for Community
Attraction and Tourism funding, and
WHEREAS, in support of the Sullivan Brothers project, the
City of Waterloo, in conjunction with the Grout Museum District,
is being asked to provide support for the creation of this new
attraction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
Section 1 : That the City of Waterloo endorses the
proposed Sullivan Brothers project as presented to and
approved by the Grout Museum District .
Section 2 : That the City of Waterloo hereby supports
and concurs in submission of an application to the
Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) for
Community Attraction and Tourism funds for the
Sullivan Brothers project .
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council this 30th day of
September, 2002 .
