RESOLUTION NO. 2001-78
RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING
AND NOTICE TO BE GIVEN ON THE TEN-YEAR AGREEMENT
WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA (BOARD OF
REGENTS, SATE OF IOWA) TO LEASE THE CHICAGO GREAT
WESTERN DEPOT BUILDING GENERALLY LOCATED AT 800
SYCAMORE STREET FOR AN ANNUAL LEASE AMOUNT OF
$72, 420.75, TO USE AS CLASSROOM AND OFFICE SPACE
FOR THE UNI-CUE OFFICE AND A WELCOME CENTER, AS
MARCH 19, 2001, AT 5: 30 P.M. IN CITY HALL
COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WATERLOO, IOWA AND INSTRUCTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH THE NOTICE OF HEARING.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa
shall meet at City Hall Council Chambers in the City of Waterloo,
Iowa at 5: 30 p.m. on the 19th day of March, 2001, for the purpose of
considering and acting upon the proposed ten-year agreement with
the University of Northern Iowa (Board of Regents, Sate of Iowa) to
lease the Chicago Great Western Depot building generally located at
800 Sycamore Street for an annual lease amount of $72, 420 . 75, to
use as classroom and office space for the UNI-CUE office and a
welcome center, described as follows :
Those parts of Lots Nos. Two (2) , Three (3) , Six (6) ,
Seven (7) and Ten (10) in Block No. One (1) in the
Original Plat, on the East Side of the Cedar River, in
the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, lying
Northwesterly of the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the Northeasterly line of said
Block that is Fifteen (15) feet Northwesterly, as
measured at right angles, from the center line of the
main track of the Chicago and North Western
Transportation Company (formerly the Chicago Great
Western Railway Company) , as said main track is now
located; thence Southwesterly parallel with said main
track center line to a point distant Nine and Five
Tenths (9. 5) feet Northwesterly, measured radially, from
the center line of the most Northwesterly side track of
the Chicago and North Western Transportation Company, as
said side track is now located; thence Southwesterly
parallel with said side track center line to a point on
the Southwesterly line of said Block, all in the City of
Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
Section 2 . That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish
notice of the time and place of said hearing in the Waterloo
Courier.
