RESOLUTION NO. 2001-172 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING JOHN FOLEY DBA WATERLOO APARTMENTS PARTNERS, L.L.C. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR LOW-INCOME AND HISTORIC TAX CREDITS TO ASSIST FINANCING OF WHITTIER AND EMERSON SCHOOL RENOVATIONS IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa has been informed by Central States Development, L.L.C. that a low income housing tax credit application will be filed with the Iowa Finance Authority for the development of affordable rental housing to be located at Waterloo, Iowa with a legal description as follows : 1 . Emerson School-314 Randolph Street, Waterloo, Iowa, Black Hawk County, Lots 8 through 14, Block 7, Leavitt' s Addition to Waterloo, Iowa. 2 . Whittier School-416 Sullivan Street, Waterloo, Iowa, Black Hawk County, Lots 1 through 10, "Shaulis Addition" in Waterloo, Iowa. WHEREAS, this housing project will contain thirty-eight (38) units, and WHEREAS, the units will be targeted toward families, and WHEREAS, the property will have the following amenities : 1 . Appliances including refrigerator, stove, oven and microwave. 2 . Heat and air conditioning. 3. Carpet where needed. 4 . Window coverings. 5. Two bathrooms for the two and three bedroom units . WHEREAS, the Sponsor has requested local assistance through Historic Tax Abatement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF WATERLOO CITY COUNCIL, that we support and approve the development of the aforesaid housing in our community, subject to city ordinances and the building permit process . This resolution is effective until December 31, 2001 . In the event that any of the characteristics mentioned above should change prior to the issuance of a building permit, this resolution is null and void.
