RESOLUTION NO. 2001-182
RESOLUTION APPROVING ROUTE FOR MY WATERLOO
DAYS PARADE ON FRIDAY, JUNE 2, 2001, AND
APPROVING REQUEST TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE STREETS
IN CONJUNCTION WITH MY WATERLOO DAYS FROM MAY
31, 2001 THROUGH JUNE 2, 2001 .
WHEREAS, My Waterloo Days has made written application to the
City Council asking that they be authorized and permitted to hold
annual My Waterloo Days Parade on Friday, June 1, 2001, and
WHEREAS, the parade route will begin on West 4th and Jefferson
Streets to Mulberry Street and down 5th Street to Bluff and close
Park, 4th and 5th Streets from Bluff to Mulberry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA that the My Waterloo Days Parade route on West 4th
and Jefferson Streets to Mulberry Street and down 5th Street to
Bluff and close Park, 4th and 5th Streets from Bluff to Mulberry on
Friday, June 1, 2001, be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA that East 4th Street from Franklin to Mulberry Street
be closed with no parking on the park side of Mulberry on Thursday,
May 31, 2001 in conjunction with People in the Park; that the 4th
Street Bridge, Cedar Street from Park Avenue to 5th Street be closed
during Dancin' Downtown and 6th Street Bridge be closed during
Fireworks Display on Friday, June 1, 2001; and hold Fun Run to
begin and end at Kingsley School on Saturday, June 2, 2001, be and
the same are herby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 2001 .
