NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that on the 7th day
of September 2021, at 5:30 p.m., in the
Harold E. Getty Council Chambers in City
Hall in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, a public
hearing will be held by the Council of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa. to review an
application for a State Revolving Fund
(SRF) loan and to make available to the
public the contents of an environmental
information document and the City's
project plan. These documents include
design and environmental information
related to the proposed improvements to
the City's wastewater infrastructure.
The project will increase capacity of
sanitary sewer along US Highway 63 and
provide a relief sewer for the Home Park
Boulevard neighborhood. The sanitary
sewer upgrade along Hwy 63 will be
completed in three phases. Phase 1 will
include approximately 6,400 linear feet of
48-inch interceptor sewer along Hwy 63
and 1,500 linear feet of 18-inch relief
sanitary sewer all necessary connections.
Additionally, 450 linear feet of storm
sewer with 4 intakes and approximately
650 linear feet of storm sewer with 2
storm structures adjacent to the north end
of the Hwy 63 Interceptor project.
The purpose of this Public Hearing is to
inform area residents of the community of
Waterloo of this proposed action, discuss
the actual cost and user fees associated
with this project, and to address citizen's
concerns, if any, with the plan. All
interested persons are encouraged to
attend this hearing.
The City of Waterloo will continue to hold
City Council meetings as scheduled,
however in response to COVID-19,
elected officials will participate both in
person at council chambers and via
videoconferencing.

at 5:30 p.m. on the date of the public

hearing. Please state the public hearing

Anyone who is interested may appear at
said time and place and be heard or may
file written objection with the City Clerk,
City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, before the date
set for said hearing.
