RESOLUTION NO. 2001-220

t, ._ RESOLUTION AGREEING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
oF-+ DEVELOPMENT OF A DIGITAL ZONING LAYER FOR
BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA.
WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Assessor' s office has entered
;into an agreement with the Iowa Northland Regional Council of
( 'Governments (INRCOG) for development of a digital zoning layer for
o <the Black Hawk Geographic Information System (GIS) that includes
' incorporated and unincorporated areas of Black Hawk County; and
s rv' WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Management Information Systems
F- (MIS) Department, after completion of the project, will make the
information available to public via the Black Hawk County internet
site; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is located in Black Hawk County
and is a member of INRCOG in good standing; and
WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Assessor' s Office and INRCOG
are requesting that the City initially participate in this process
through a commitment of staff time and access to the City' s current
zoning ordinance and zoning map in order to ensure complete
coverage of Black Hawk County; and
WHEREAS, after the initial process is complete, the City of
Waterloo is willing to commit future staff time, pertinent zoning
ordinance amendment information and funding so as to maintain the
integrity of the information displayed on the Black Hawk County
internet site.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby
supports the initial development of a digital zoning layer for the
incorporated area of the City and commits to maintain the future
accuracy of the information presented on the Black Hawk County
internet site.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of May, 2001 .
