RESOLUTION NO. 2001-250
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING COMMUNITY HOUSING
INITIATIVES TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR LOW-INCOME AND
HISTORIC TAX CREDITS TO ASSIST FINANCING OF
THE CONSTRUCTION OF OAK PARK TERRACE IN THE
CITY OF WATERLOO.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has been informed by
Community Housing Initiatives that a low income housing tax credit
application will be filed with the Iowa Finance Authority for the
development of affordable rental housing to be located at
Ansborough Avenue and West 4th Street, Waterloo, Iowa with a legal
description as follows:
Unplatted Waterloo West part Northeast Southeast Section
33 Township 89 Range 13 described as follows: Beginning
at Southwest corner Byrnbrae Second Addition, said point
also lying on West line East 25 acres said Northeast
Southeast said point also lying on North line South 8
Acres said East 25 acres thence east along South line
said Byrnbrae Second Addition 755. 85 feet thence South
122 . 9 feet to point of curvature of a 5, 712 .55 foot
radius curve concave easterly with a long cord of 247. 05
feet which bears South 2°18' 50" Easterly thence
Southerly along said curve 247 . 07 feet to point of
tangency thence South 3°36' 10" East 79. 61 feet to south
line said Northeast Southeast thence West 765.25 feet to
West line of said 25 acres thence North 449.45 feet to
point of beginning, all in the City of Waterloo, Black
Hawk County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, this housing project will contain twenty-eight
(28) units, and
WHEREAS, the units will be targeted toward elderly, and
WHEREAS, the project will be new construction, and
WHEREAS, the property will have the following amenities:
range, refrigerator, in-unit washer/dryer, garbage disposal,
air conditioner, window covering, community room, garages or
underground parking, and
WHEREAS, the Sponsor has requested local assistance in
tax abatement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that we support and approve the development of the
aforesaid housing in our community, subject to city ordinances and
the building permit process. This resolution is effective until
December 31, 2001 . In the event that any of the characteristics
mentioned above should change prior to the issuance of a building
permit, this resolution is null and void.
