RESOLUTION NO. 2000-11
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ALLOCATION OF GRANT IN
THE AMOUNT OF $123 , 647 . 00 FROM THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
F.Y. 1999 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT
PROGRAM, WITH A REQUIRED LOCAL MATCH OF
$13 , 719 . 00 .
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo applied for the F.Y. 1999 Local
Law Enforcement Block Grant, and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo was awarded said grant by the
U.S. Department of Justice in the amount of $123, 647 . 00, and
WHEREAS, said F.Y. 1999 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant in
the amount of $123, 647. 00 requires a ten percent local match of
$13, 719 . 00, and
WHEREAS, an advisory Committee has approved the following
uses for said grant :
Waterloo Police Department $96, 967 . 00
Overtime for Community Oriented
Policing Projects and minor
police equipment
Black Hawk County Attorney $12, 500 . 00
Courtroom Presentation System
Waterloo Community Schools $10, 000 . 00
Security cameras and lighting,
middle schools
Village Initiative $ 4, 000 . 00
Computer and Neighborhood Watch
Seminar
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the above allocation of grant in the
amount of $123 , 647. 00 from the U. S. Department of Justice in
conjunction with the F.Y. 1999 Local Law Enforcement Block Grant
Program, be and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the required ten percent local
match will be provided by the Waterloo Community Schools and Black
Hawk County Attorney.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of Ja ary, 2000 .
