RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE TO NOISE
ORDINANCE REQUEST FROM CEDAR VALLEY
PRIDEFEST, IN CONJUNCTION WITH CEDAR VALLEY
PRIDEFEST 2021, TO BE HELD ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 27,
2021, FROM 1:00 P.M. - 12:00 A.M. AND SATURDAY,
AUGUST 28, 2021 FROM 8:00 A.M. - 12:00 A.M., INCLUDING
STREET CLOSURES, LIVE MUSICAL, THEATRICAL
PERFORMANCES AND THE USE OF A PA SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Cedar Valley Pridefest, Inc., is requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance
from August 27, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. and August 28, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00
a.m., in conjunction with the Cedar Valley Pridefest 2021 event, to be held in the 300 and 400
block of W. 4th Street and the 500 and 600 block of lower Washington Street, including the use
of a PA system, together with the recommendation and approval of the Captain of Police
Services, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Cedar Valley Pridefest, Inc., for a variance to the Noise
Ordinance, from August 27, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. and August 28, 2021 from 8:00
a.m. - 12:00 a.m., in conjunction with the Cedar Valley Pridefest 2021 event, to be held in the
300 and 400 block of W. 4th Street and the 500 and 600 block of lower Washington Street,
including the use of a PA system, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of August 2021.
