RESOLUTION NO. 2021-535
RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE TO NOISE
ORDINANCE REQUEST FROM CLARENCE WILLIAMS IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE AFRICAN AMERICAN FEST, TO
BE HELD AT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM
LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF E. 4TH AND ADAMS
STREETS, ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2021 FROM 11:00 A.M. TO
7:00 P.M. INCLUDING THE USE OF LIVE BANDS AND THE
USE OF A PA SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Clarence Williams is requesting a variance to the Noise Ordinance on
September 18, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the African American Museum, in
conjunction with the African American Fest, including live bands and use of a PA system,
together with the recommendation and approval of the Captain of Police Services, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Clarence Williams, for a variance to the Noise
Ordinance on September 18, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the African American
Museum, in conjunction with the African American Fest, including live bands and use of a PA
system, is hereby approved.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of August 2021.
