RESOLUTION NO. 2000-235
RESOLUTION APPROVING ROUTE FOR MY WATERLOO
DAYS PARADE ON FRIDAY, JUNE 2, 2000, AND
APPROVING REQUEST TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE STREETS
IN CONJUNCTION WITH MY WATERLOO DAYS FROM JUNE
4, 2000 THROUGH JUNE 5, 2000.
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA that the following route for the My Waterloo Days Parade on
Friday, June 2, 2000, be and the same is hereby approved:
1 . The parade route will begin at the corner of 4th and
Jefferson Streets, north on 4th Street to Mulberry Street,
east on Mulberry to 5th Street, south on 5th Street and
disband at 5th and Bluff Streets.
2 . Park Avenue from Bluff Street, north to Lafayette Street
and Bluff Street, from 6th Street to Park Avenue, as well
as 4th Street from Washington to Jefferson will be
temporarily closed from 3 : 00 p.m. until 8 : 00 p.m. to allow
for staging of floats and units for the parade.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA that the below described streets be temporarily closed as
follows:
1 . East 4th Street from Franklin to Mulberry Streets and no
parking on Mulberry on the park side on Thursday, June 1,
2000 in conjunction with People in the Park.
2 . South Street from West Park to West 3rd Street on Friday,
June 2, 2000 in conjunction with Kids Day (Grout Museum)
Washington Park.
3 . 4th Street Bridge closed from Sycamore to Commercial
Streets . Cedar Street from Park to 5th and 6th Street
Bridge during shooting of the fireworks on Friday, June 2,
2000 in conjunction with Dancin Downtown.
4 . Corner of Fletcher and Campbell, Campbell from Fletcher
towards Leisure Services Department, Fletcher to Kingbard
be closed from 7 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5,
2000 in conjunction with Bike Races .
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of June, 2000.
