RESOLUTION NO. 2000-292
RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF
HEARING AND NOTICE TO BE GIVEN ON VACATION,
SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF PORTIONS OF THE ALLEY
ABUTTING PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED AT THE
NORTHEAST CORNER OF LINDEN AVENUE AND FOWLER
STREET TO ARAMARK AS JUNE 12, 2000, AT 5: 30
P.M. IN CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WATERLOO,
IOWA AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH
THE NOTICE OF HEARING.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 . That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa
shall meet at City Hall Council Chambers in the City of Waterloo,
Iowa at 5: 30 p.m. on the 12th day of June, 2000, for the purpose of
considering and acting upon a proposal to vacate, sell and convey
portions of the alley abutting property generally located at the
northeast corner of Linden Avenue and Fowler Street to Aramark, and
legally described as follows :
The 20 foot continuous alley between the Chicago Central
and Pacific Railroad right-of-way and Block 2 Cowin' s
Second Addition, that lies Easterly of the East line of
Linden Avenue, and Northwesterly and westerly of the
North line of Fowler Street extended Easterly;
Also, the east-west alley described as the South 22 feet
of the North 24 feet of Lot 3 Block 2 of Cowin' s Second
Addition (as dedicated by Ordinance No. 2213) ;
Also, the 20 foot wide North-South alley as platted
between Lots 1 through 5 Block 2 and Lot 6 Block 2 of
Cowin' s Second Addition, except the South 156 feet in
even width (previously vacated by Ordinance Nos. 2206
and 2213) ;
All in Section 30 Township 89 Range 13, West of the 5th
Principal Meridian, all in the City of Waterloo, Black
Hawk County, Iowa;
for $1 . 00, plus costs;
Section 2 . That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish
notice of the time and place of said hearing in the Waterloo
Courier.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of May, 2000.
