RESOLUTION NO. 2000-312
RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF MAIN STREET
WATERLOO AND WATERLOO JAYCEES FOR VARIANCE TO
NOISE ORDINANCE, ORDINANCE NO. 3094 AND
TEMPORARILY CLOSING OF STREETS AND BRIDGES.
WHEREAS, Main Street Waterloo and Waterloo Jaycees request a
variance to the Noise Ordinance on July 1, 2000 from 4 : 00 p.m. to
midnight to allow live bands at the Waterloo Industries parking lot
at the 100 block of East 4th Street and the Courier parking lot on
the Commercial Street side, and that 4th Street from Commercial
Street to Sycamore Street be closed from noon to midnight, the 6th
Street bridge be closed from 5: 00 p.m. to midnight, and 5th Street
bridge be closed prior to the fireworks display until 10: 30, in
conjunction with the Waterloo Fireworks Festival, and
WHEREAS, said Waterloo Fireworks Festival will exceed the
limits of the Noise Ordinance, Ordinance No. 3094, and
WHEREAS, said Main Street Waterloo and Waterloo Jaycees have
made formal application for a variance to the Noise Ordinance and
to close several streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA that the request of Main Street Waterloo and
Waterloo Jaycees for a variance to Ordinance No. 3094, Noise
Ordinance, on July 1, 2000 from 4 : 00 p.m. to midnight to allow live
bands at the Waterloo Industries parking lot at the 100 block of
East 4th Street and the Courier parking lot on the Commercial Street
side, and that 4th Street from Commercial Street to Sycamore Street
be closed from noon to midnight, the 6th Street bridge be closed
from 5: 00 p.m. to midnight, and 5th Street bridge be closed prior to
the fireworks display until 10: 30, in conjunction with the Waterloo
Fireworks Festival, be and the and the same hereby granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of June, 2000.
