RESOLUTION NO. 2000-343
RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A QUIT
CLAIM DEED FROM WATERLOO COMMUNITY SCHOOL
DISTRICT FOR THE FORMER HEWITT SCHOOL
GENERALLY LOCATED AT 348 N. ELK RUN ROAD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
that the Quit Claim Deed, dated August 16, 1999, from Waterloo
Community School District conveying unto the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, certain real property known as the former Hewitt School
generally located at 348 N. Elk Run Road, described as follows :
A part of the North One-half of the Southwest Quarter
of Section No. Twenty-two (22) , Township No. Eighty-
nine (89) North, Range No. Twelve (12) West of the
Fifth (5th) Prinicpal Meridian, Black Hawk County, Iowa,
described as follows : Commencing at a point which is
Three Hundred Four (304) feet South of the Northwest
corner of the Southwest Quarter of said Section No.
Twenty-two (22) ; running thence East a distance of
Three Hundred Eighty-four and Thirty-five Hundredths
(384 . 35) feet; thence South a distance of Three Hundred
Forty (340) feet; thence West a distance of Three
Hundred Eight-four and Thirty-five Hundredths (384 . 35)
feet to the West line of said Section; thence North
along the West line of said Section a distance of Three
Hundred Forty (340) feet to the place of beginning, all
in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
Except that part thereof conveyed to Black Hawk County,
Iowa for road purposes by Deed recorded in the office
of the Recorder in Book 94 Land Deeds, at Page 451 .
Also and easement over, under and across the following:
Commencing at a point on the North line of the above

BLACK HAWK COUNTY East of the Northwest corner of the Southwest A of said
ASSESSOR Section 22 ; thence North to the North line of said
Southwest 1/ of said Section 22 along a line which if
extended would intersect a 16 inch county tile at a
point 25 feet North and 54 feet East of the Northwest
corner of the Southwest 1/ of said Section 22 ; thence
East along the North line of the Southwest IA of said
Section 22 a distance of 4 feet; thence South along a
line that is parallel to the first described course to
a point on the North line of the above described tract
that is 4 feet East of the point of beginning; thence
West 4 feet to the point of beginning, for the purpose
of a sanitary drain tile . Grantee to have the right
under said easement to construct, maintain, repair and
rebuild said drain tile and to make the necessary
excavations and back fill for such purposes;
be and the same is hereby approved and accepted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of June, 2000, and approved
by the Mayor on the 22nd day of June 2se0 .
