RESOLUTION NO. 2000-422
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF
A PART OF VACATED BLUFF STREET GENERALLY
LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF HIGHWAY 218
FRONTAGE ROAD AND WEST 7TH STREET TO THE FIRST
CHURCH OF THE OPEN BIBLE FOR $500.00, PLUS
COSTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A DEED FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of real
property in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as described below, and
WHEREAS, an offer to purchase said certain parcel of real
property in the sum of $500. 00, plus costs, has been made by the
First Church of the Open Bible, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on July 31, 2000, at 5: 30
p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, as
provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on
the proposal to sell and convey premises owned by the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, to the First Church of the Open Bible, Waterloo,
Iowa, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale and
conveyance should be made as proposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS:
1 . The following described real property, as fully described
in the published notice in the Waterloo Courier on July 24, 2000,
is not presently needed and will not be needed in the foreseeable
future for municipal purposes and its ownership is serving no
municipal purpose, and
2 . That the offer of the First Church of the Open Bible to
purchase real property for the sum of $500. 00 and costs be, and it
is hereby accepted for real property described below:
Beginning at the most Westerly corner of Lot Six (6) ,
Block Forty-six (46) , Original Plat, West Waterloo;
thence Southwesterly Forty-seven and Thirty-five
Hundredths (47 .35) feet along the Southwesterly
extension of the Northwesterly line of said Block Forty-
six (46) ; thence Southeasterly to a point on the
Southwesterly extension of the Southeasterly line of
said Block Forty-six (46) , said point lying Forty-eight
and Twenty-four Hundredths (48 .24) feet Southwesterly of
the most Southerly corner of Lot Ten (10) in said Block
Forty-six (46) ; thence Northeasterly Four and Forty-one
Hundredths (4 .41) feet along said Southeasterly line of
Block Forty-six (46) extended; thence Northwesterly One
Hundred Thirty-one and Fifty-one Hundredths (131 . 51)
feet along a Seven Hundred Forty-six and Eight Tenths
(746. 8) foot radius curve, concave Northeasterly, to a
point on the Northeasterly line of said former Bluff
Street which is One Hundred Seventy-seven and Six Tenths
(177 . 6) feet Southeast of the point of beginning; thence
Northwesterly One Hundred Seventy-seven and Six Tenths
(177 . 6) feet to the point of beginning, all in the City
of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa;

3 . That the City of Waterloo, Iowa, convey said parcel of
real property to the First Church of the Open Bible by Deed.
4 . That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
execute and deliver deed to the First Church of the Open Bible.
5. That the original of said deed fully executed and
acknowledged is hereby approved and confirmed by the Council.
6. That the City Clerk is authorized and directed to deliver
said deed of conveyance to the First Church of the Open Bible upon
receipt of the sum of $500. 00, and costs .
