RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
Ti APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR A HAZARD
MITIGATION PLANNING GRANT, COMMITTING LOCAL
MATCH, DESIGNATING THE MAYOR AS THE CITY' S
AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO AFFIX HIS SIGNATURE TO SAID
(3 APPLICATION AND CERTAIN ASSURANCES IN
r CONJUNCTION OF SAME.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo would like
to develop a hazard mitigation plan and desires to obtain a
Planning Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo recognizes the fact that a
planning grant from FEMA is a 75% federal/25% nonfederal matching
source.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, as follows:
1 . The Hazard Mitigation Grant Application is herby approved.
2 . The local match of 25% for the Hazard Mitigation Planning
grant, provided through the Iowa Emergency Management Division
(IEMD) and FEMA is herewith committed.
3 . The Mayor is hereby designated as the official representative
of the City and is further hereby directed and authorized to
affix his signature to said application and certain assurances
in conjunction with same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of October, 2000.
