RESOLUTION NO. 1999-420
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AND APPROVING CERTAIN
ACQUISITION CONTRACTS TO SELL REAL PROPERTY
TO THE CITY AND ACCEPTING AND APPROVING
CERTAIN DEEDS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has had the parcel
described herein appraised and the fair market value ascertained.,
and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of the hereinafter described parcel
is necessary to carry out the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive/Bishop
Avenue Extension Project,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the contract for the parcel
hereinafter described to sell the same to the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, all of which is situated in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk
County, Iowa, is accepted and approved and the Mayor and City
Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the same in behalf of
the City and to execute all instruments necessary to consummate
the agreement to purchase the property from the owners thereof,
and the deed for the conveyance of the same are also accepted and
approved and the City of Waterloo is directed to pay for the
properties and the incidental expenses necessary to the
consummation of the sales from City funds.
The subject parcel is:

A parcel of land located in the Northwest A of the
Southeast A of Section 21, Township 89 North, Range 12
West of the Fifth Principal Meridian, Black Hawk
County, Iowa, more particularly described as follows :
Commencing at the Northeast corner of the Southeast

of said Section 21; thence South 89°49 '47" West on the
North line of the Southeast / of said Section 21 a
distance of 1, 319 .42 feet to the Northeast corner of
the Northwest % of the Southeast A of said Section 21,
the point of beginning of the parcel herein described;
thence South 00°52 ' 59" East on the East line of the
Northwest % of the Southeast % of said Section 21 a
distance of 540 . 14 feet; thence North 73°43 ' 21" West a
distance of 669 . 38 feet; thence North 81°47 ' 36" West a
distance of 688 .38 feet to the West line of the
Southeast % of said Section 21; thence North 00°53 ' 04"
West on the West line of the Southeast % of said
Section 21 a distance of 250 .31 feet to the Northwest

corner of the Southeast % of said Section 21; thence
North 89°49 '47" East on the North line of the Southeast
1/1 of said Section 21 a distance of 1, 319 .42 feet to the
point of beginning; containing 11 .23 acres, all in the
City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.
Basis of bearings: the North line of the Southeast % of
said Section 21 is assumed to bear South 89°49 '47" West
for the purpose of this description.
