RESOLUTION NO. 1999-444
RESOLUTION GRANTING VARIANCE TO SECTION
574, OF ORDINANCE NO. 3842, AS AMENDED,
TRUCK ORDINANCE (TRUCK EMBARGO) ON
VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, has adopted an Ordinance embargoing truck traffic on
Idaho Street from Newell Street to East Donald Street; East
Donald Street from Elk Run Road to Moline Road; East Airline
Highway from Moline Road to Logan Avenue (Highway 63) , known
as Section 574, of Ordinance No. 3842, as amended, Traffic
Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, MidAmerican Energy has requested a variance to
said Ordinance for purpose of construction of the second half
of a 12" main installation project which will tie in at
Newell Street approximately one-half mile east of Northeast
Drive and extending northwesterly to the corner of Highway 63 •
and East Airline Highway, from July 6, 1999 through October
1, 1999, with said MidAmerican Energy required to make
requests on a daily, as-needed basis, with a 24-hour advance
notice to the Engineering and Police Departments and to
provide a list and description of those trucks using the
above streets .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that a variance to
Section 574, of Ordinance No. 3842, as amended, Traffic
Ordinance, be granted as requested.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of July 1999 .
