RESOLUTION NO. 1999-517 RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING AND NOTICE TO BE GIVEN ON THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF THE LAKE PARCEL OF LAND GENERALLY LOCATED BETWEEN GREYHOUND PARK AND HIGHWAY 20 TO NATIONAL CATTLE CONGRESS FOR $1 . 00, PLUS COSTS, AS AUGUST 23, 1999, AT 7 : 00 P.M. IN CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WATERLOO, IOWA AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH THE NOTICE OF HEARING. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa shall meet at City Hall Council Chambers in the City of Waterloo, Iowa at 7 : 00 p.m. on the 23rd day of August, 1999, for the purpose of considering and acting upon a proposal to sell and convey the lake parcel of land generally located between Greyhound Park and Highway 20, owned by the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to National Cattle Congress, and legally described as follows : A parcel of land located in part of the SW k and the SE 14 of Section 6, Township 88 N, Range 13 W of the 5th Principal Meridian, Black Hawk County, Iowa, as shown on right-of-way Plat Exhibit "A" attached and by reference made a part hereof. Said parcel is described as follows : Commencing at the SW Corner of said Section 6; thence N 00°00' 00" E, 1320 . 50 feet along the west line of SW k of said Section 6; thence N89°42' 54" E, 818 . 14 feet to the Point of Beginning; thence N 89°42' 54" E, 2285. 88 feet; thence N89°42' 42" E, 595. 69 feet to a point on the northwesterly right-of-way line of the Chicago Great Western Railroad (abandoned) ; thence S35°31' 30" W, 850 . 21 feet along said line; thence N 72°26' 10" W, 1005. 02 feet; thence westerly 637 . 85, feet along a 7789. 65 foot radius curve, concave southerly, having a chord bearing N75°14' 03" W; 637 . 67 feet; thence N77°34' 36" W 835 . 86 feet; thence N06°19' 5" E, 32 . 15 feet to the Point of Beginning; containing 22 . 17 acres, more or less, all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa; Subject to the State' s right of entry thereon for the purpose of construction and maintaining the right-of-way fence and State will be held blameless and without liability for fencing private property or maintaining the same; for $1. 00, plus costs . Section 2 . That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of the time and place of said hearing in the Waterloo Courier. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 2nd d ugust, 1999.
