RESOLUTION NO. 1999-592
RESOLUTION ON ACQUISITION OR DEVELOPMENT FOR
RECREATION.
WHEREAS, the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Association (CVYSA) is
interested in acquiring lands or developing recreational
facilities on the following described project for the enjoyment of
the citizenry of the City of Waterloo and the State of Iowa.
Project Title : Cedar Valley Youth Soccer
Association
Total Estimated Cost : $250, 000 . 00
Brief Description of Project : The project consists of the
construction of two shelters
and an asphalt parking lot for
the CVYSA soccer complex
located in the City of
Waterloo.
and,
WHEREAS, Recreation Infrastructure Grants are sought to
provide financial assistance for the acquisition or development of
said recreational facilities .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WATERLOO that the project described above be authorized.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Cedar Valley Youth Soccer
Association make application to the Iowa Department of Natural
Resources to seek Recreation Infrastructure Grant assistance from
the Department of Natural Resources in the amount of 33 . 33% of the
actual cost of the project in behalf of said Cedar Valley Youth
Soccer Association.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Cedar Valley Youth Soccer
Association certifies to the following:
1 . That it is in complete accord with the attached
proposal and that it will carry out the acquisition
and/or development in the manner described in the
proposal and any plans and specifications attached
thereto unless prior approval for any change has been
received from the Iowa Department of Natural
Resources .
2 . That it has the ability and intention to finance its
share of the cost of the project and that the project
will be operated and maintained at the expense of
said Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Association for public
recreational use for the anticipated life of the
project, estimated to be sixty-five (65) years .
3 . That it will maintain adequate financial records on
the proposed project to substantiate claims for cost-
sharing.
