RESOLUTION NO. 1999-593
RESOLUTION ON ACQUISITION OR DEVELOPMENT FOR
RECREATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is interested in acquiring
lands or developing recreational facilities on the following
described project for the enjoyment of the citizenry of Waterloo,
Iowa and the State of Iowa.
Project Title : Waterloo Pool Improvements
Total Estimated Cost : $325, 000 . 00
Brief Description of Project : Operational improvements for
both municipal swimming pools .
and,
WHEREAS, Recreation Infrastructure Grants are sought to
provide financial assistance for the acquisition or development of
said recreational facilities .
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WATERLOO CITY COUNCIL
that the project described above be authorized.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said City of Waterloo make
application to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to seek
Recreation Infrastructure Grant assistance from the Department of
Natural Resources in the amount of 30 . 8% of the actual cost of the
project in behalf of said City of Waterloo.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said City of Waterloo certifies
to the following:
1 . That it is in complete accord with the attached
proposal and that it will carry out the acquisition
and/or development in the manner described in the
proposal and any plans and specifications attached
thereto unless prior approval for any change has been
received from the Iowa Department of Natural
Resources .
2 . That it has the ability and intention to finance its
share of the cost of the project and that the project
will be operated and maintained at the expense of
said City of Waterloo for public recreational use for
the anticipated life of the project, estimated to be
18 - 20 years .
3 . That it will maintain adequate financial records on
the proposed project to substantiate claims for cost-
sharing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of August, 1999 .
