RESOLUTION NO. 2021-562
RESOLUTION APPROVING SUBMISSION OF A STATE
REVOLVING FUND WATER RESOURCE RESTORATION
SPONSORED PROJECT GRANT APPLICATION, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $517,000, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TITUS
(MIDLAND AVENUE) LIFT STATION AND FORCE MAIN
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is currently implementing a project for the
construction of a wet detention basin on Sunnyside Creek south of West San Marnan Drive and
north of US Highway 20 and Sunnyside Creek stream bank restoration from West San Marnan
Drive to West Ridgeway Avenue, and
WHEREAS, Iowa law allows sewer utility revenues to finance a category of projects,
called Water Resource Restoration Sponsored Projects, and
WHEREAS, said project is eligible for about 10% of the SRF loan amount under the
State of Iowa's SRF Water Resource Restoration Sponsored Projects program sponsored by the
Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and
WHEREAS, said loan program would lower the cost of the project for the City of
Waterloo approximately $500,000 for future locally directed, watershed -based projects to address
water quality problems.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
to approve the City's Application for the SRF Water Resource Restoration Sponsored Projects
program, in the amount of $517,000, in conjunction with the Titus (Midland Avenue) Lift Station
and Force Main construction project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed
to take all necessary administrative actions to implement this resolution.
