NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
On Proposed Plans, Specifications, Form
of Contract, And Estimate of Cost
For the SULLIVAN BROTHERS PLAZA
RENOVATION
In the City of Waterloo. Iowa
RECEIVING OF BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the
City Clerk of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, at
her office in the City Hall of the said City
on the 16th day of September 2021 until
1:00 p.m. for the construction of the
n Sullivan Brothers Plaza Renovation Proj-
ect, as described in detail in the plans and
specifications now on file in the Office of
the City Clerk.
OPENING OF BIDS
All proposals received wit be opened in
the Second Floor Council Chambers at
City Hall, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on
the 16th day of September 2021 at 1:00
p.m., and the proposals will be acted
upon at such later time and place as may
then be fixed by the City Council. The bid
opening will be livestreamed on YouTube
and made available on the city website.
PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Council of
said City will conduct a public hearing on
the proposed plans, specifications, form
of contract, and estimate of cost for the
construction of the above -described im-
provement project at 5:30 p.m. on the
201h day o1 September 2021, said hearing
to be held in the Harold E. Getty Council
Chambers in City Hall in said City. The
proposed plans, specifications, form of
contract, and estimate of cost for said
improvements heretofore prepared by the
City of Waterloo are now on file in the
office of the City Clerk for public
examination, and any person interested
therein may file written objection thereto
with the City Clerk before the date set for
said hearing, or appear and make
objection thereto with the City Clerk
before the date set for said hearing. or
appear and make objection thereto at the
meeting above set forth.
SCOPE OF WORK
The project consists of renovation of the
existing Plaza area along West 4th street,
which will include the groundwork for a
Memorial to the Five Sullivan Brothers.
Work along Jefferson Street and Com-
mercial Street are included in the project.
There will be landscaping, electrical, and
structural work included in the project,
and related work indicated in the
drawings and specifications.
Published pursuant to the provisions of
Chapter 26 of the City Code of Iowa and
upon order to the City Council of said
Waterloo, Iowa, on the 16th day of August
2021.
