RESOLUTION NO. 1999-694 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTY GENERALLY LOCATED SOUTHEAST OF THE CORNER OF FLETCHER AND UNIVERSITY AVENUES TO LAVERN DROSTE FOR $7, 000 . 00, PLUS COSTS AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A DEED FOR SAME. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of real property in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, as described below, and WHEREAS, an offer to purchase said certain parcel of real property in the sum of $7, 000 . 00, plus costs, has been made by LaVern Droste, and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on October 11, 1999, at 7 : 00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Waterloo, Iowa, as provided by law, by the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, on the proposal to sell and convey premises owned by the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to LaVern Droste, Waterloo, Iowa, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Council that sale and conveyance should be made as proposed. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, AS FOLLOWS: 1 . The following described real property, as fully described in the published notice in the Waterloo Courier on September 30, 1999, is not presently needed and will not be needed in the foreseeable future for municipal purposes and its ownership is serving no municipal purpose, and 2 . That the offer of LaVern Droste to purchase real property for the sum of $7, 000 . 00 and costs be, and it is hereby accepted for real property described below: That part of Lots Twenty (20) and Twenty-one (21) , Block Thirty-four (34) , Hagerman Place, Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, described as follows : Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Lot Twenty- one (21) ; thence S 89°47' 50" W Ten (10) feet along the South line of said Lot Twenty-one (21) ; thence N 57°57' 35" W Twenty-five (25) feet; thence N 44°20' 11" W Twenty-five (25) feet; thence N 28°19' 08" W Twenty-five (25) feet; thence N 18°42' 12" W Twenty-five (25) feet; thence N 00°56' 31" W Twenty (20) feet; thence N 21°21' 06" E Twenty (20) feet; thence N 64°16' 25" E Twenty-two and Eighty-five Hundredths (22 . 85) feet to the North line of said Lot Twenty (20) , said point being one (1) foot West of the Northeast corner of said Lot Twenty (20) ; thence S 8 9°39' 00" E Forty-one (41) feet along the North line of said Lots Twenty (20) and Twenty-one (21) to the Northeast corner of Lot Twenty- one (21) ; thence S 00°00' 00" W One Hundredths Twenty- five and Nine Hundredths (125. 09) feet to the point of beginning (the East line of Lot Twenty-one (21) is assumed to bear S 00°00' 00" W for this description) , all in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Resolution No . 1999-694 Page 2 3 . That the City of Waterloo, Iowa, convey said parcel of real property to LaVern Droste by Deed. 4 . That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute and deliver deed to LaVern Droste. 5 . That the original of said deed fully executed and acknowledged is hereby approved and confirmed by the Council. 6. That the City Clerk is authorized and directed to deliver said deed of conveyance to LaVern Droste upon receipt of the sum of $7, 000 . 00, and costs .
