RESOLUTION NO. 1999-706
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RENOVATION/CONSTRUCTION
OF THE CHICAGO GREAT WESTERN FREIGHT DEPOT
FOR THE WATERLOO MUSEUM OF ARTS YOUTH
PAVILION AND DEVELOPMENT OF A CONCEPT AND
PLAN FOR AN ADDITION TO CENTER FOR THE ARTS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
that the City Council supports the recommendation of the Waterloo
Cultural and Arts Commission for a total renovation/construction
project, including development of the Chicago Great Western
Freight Depot for the Waterloo Museum of Arts Youth Pavilion, the
development of the plaza area surrounding the Depot and to develop
a concept and plan for an addition to the Center for the Arts to
address space needs that would include : a ceramic studio, building
and collection storage, a freight elevator, a loading dock, a
Resource Center for youth, a permanent collection Gallery and
additional security.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 11th day of October, 1999 .
