...............CITY OF WATERLOO ...............,of...................Waterloo,JA.....................................hereinafter called the Owner.
WHEREAS,The contractor has heretofore entered into a contract with the Owner,to perform certain labor and furnish certain material for
the completion of.............CARNEGIE ANNEX STAIR REPLACEMENT................................................hereinafter called the
Project,pursuant to plans and specifications,including addends ..............................To ..............................inclusive,prepared
by............................................................Architect/Engineer which contract consisting of the invitation to bidders,the instructions to
bidders„ the proposal,the contract,the plans and specifications,the general conditions,the supplementary general conditions,the special
conditions,the bond, if any, and any addends or amendments to any of the foregoing, is hereinafter collectively referred to as the General
Contract.
THE CONTRACTOR AGREES AS FOLLOWS:
1. To furnish all labor,material,skill and instrumentality's,to secure all field measurements necessary of required and to perform all
the work necessary or incidentally required for that part of the construction of the Project,as follows:
Remove concrete stairs and dispose of all removed concrete.
Form new stairs
Form stairs to comply with the present configuration by drilling into sidewalls of step run to accommodate form holding with#8
screw to be filled after form removal
Provide 6"rock base under stairs
Set rock base so there is a 6"concrete base under stair treads(per drawing)
Install a#4 re-rod, 12"x12"mat, within the 6"concrete base under stair tread. Re-rod mat shall be supported by mat chairs 2"
to 2 %" above rock base.
Provide a #4 re-rod to full length of each stair tread. The re-rod shall be placed in stair tread as per drawing.
Obtain form inspection before stairs are poured. Provide%"expansion between all surfaces and new concrete.
Finish:
Stair run shall have a fine broom finish.
Stair nose shall be tooled to a'/"radius.
Forms shall be removed to sand finish rise and tool the run&rise joint.
A clear curing compound shall be used on stairs after stairs have been poured and finished.
Sandblast and re paint existing rod-iron handrail. Handrail shall be placed when steps are poured or pockets set in place so
handrail can be grouted in later.
Cut expansion joint down%2"below surface and caulk with a Vulcan non flow caulk or equal.
Provide all Insurance's and material as specified by plans and specifications.
2. To begin the work herewith contracted for as soon as the Project upon which work is to be done is ready for such work or,in any
event,within...................10................calendar days after being notified by the Owner so to do,and to complete the several
portions of the whole thereof within the times,following namely:

3. CONDITIONS PER OWNER:
Payment and performance bond will not be required for this project.
All payments to the Contractor shall be subject to ten percent(10%)retainage.
Completion date for project shall be May 31,2006.(Documented weather delays will be the only acceptable cause for extension)
Penalty of$250.00 per day if the completion date is not met.
Upon completion of project the site shall be left free of debris.
4. The contractor agrees to do the work described in paragraph 1 hereof,subject to the provisions,for the sum of...Twelve
