RESOLUTION NO. 2012-391 RESOLUTION GRANTING REQUEST OF BLACK HAWK COUNTY EXTENSION AND OUTREACH FOR A VARIANCE TO SECTION 5-2-6B OF THE WATERLOO CODE OF ORDINANCES, DISCHARGING AND POSSESSING AIR RIFLES AND SIMILAR DEVICES; EXCEPTIONS, TO FIRE AIR RIFLES ON JULY 24-28, 2012 AS PART OF A DEMONSTRATION FOR THE 4-H SHOOTING SPORTS PROGRAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BLACK HAWK COUNTY 4-H & FFA FAIR BEING HELD AT THE NATIONAL CATTLE CONGRESS GROUNDS. WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach is proposing to fire air rifles July 24-28, 2012 as part of a demonstration for the 4-H Shooting Sports Program in conjunction with the Black Hawk County 4-H & FFA Fair being held at the National Cattle Congress Grounds, and WHEREAS, said operations would be in violation of Section 5- 2-6B of the Waterloo Code of Ordinances, Discharging and Possessing Air Rifles and Similar Devices; Exceptions, and WHEREAS, the Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach has made formal application for a variance to Section 5-2-6B of the Waterloo Code of Ordinances, Discharging and Possessing Air Rifles and Similar Devices; Exceptions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of the Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach for a variance to Section 5-2-6B of the Waterloo Code of Ordinances, Discharging and Possessing Air Rifles and Similar Devices, Exception, to fire air rifles on July 24-28, 2012, as part of a demonstration for the 4-H Shooting Sports Program, in conjunction with the Black Hawk County 4-H & FFA Fair being held at the National Cattle Congress Grounds, be and the same hereby granted.
