RESOLUTION APPROVING VARIANCE TO NOISE
ORDINANCE REQUEST FROM JESSICA RUCKER ON
BEHALF OF MAIN STREET WATERLOO, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE DOWNTOWN TRICK OR TREATING EVENT TO
BE HELD THROUGHOUT DOWNTOWN WATERLOO ON
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2021 FROM 9:00 A.M. TO 2:00
P.M., INCLUDING ACTIVITIES AND A COSTUME PARADE
IN LINCOLN PARK WITH THE USE OF A PA SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Jessica Rucker on behalf of Main Street Waterloo is requesting a variance to
the Noise Ordinance on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in conjunction
with the downtown Trick or Treating event to be held throughout downtown Waterloo, including
activities and a costume parade in Lincoln Park with the use of a PA system, and
WHEREAS, said event will exceed the limits of Ordinance No. 3094, Noise Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that the request of Jessica Rucker on behalf of Main Street Waterloo, for a
variance to the Noise Ordinance on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in
conjunction with the downtown Trick or Treating event to be held throughout downtown
Waterloo, including activities and a costume parade in Lincoln Park with the use of a PA system,
together with the recommendation of the Director of Safety Services, be and the same hereby
granted.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18`h day of October 2021.
