RESOLUTION NO. 2021-738
RESOLUTION AWARDING BID TO B & B LAWN CARE,
INC., OF WATERLOO, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF $25.48
PER LOT/OCCURRENCE, APPROVING THE CONTRACT
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE 2021-2022 RESIDENTIAL/MISCELLANEOUS
AREAS SNOW REMOVAL CONTRACT FOR CITY OWNED
LOTS GENERALLY ACQUIRED THROUGH IOWA CODE
657A, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, B & B Lawn Care, Inc. of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted a bid in the amount of
$38.22 per lot/area per occurrence for approximately 215 properties, in conjunction with the
2021-2022 Residential/Miscellaneous Areas Snow Removal Contract for city owned lots
generally acquired through Iowa Code 657A, and
WHEREAS, as B & B Lawn Care Inc., was the only bidder, and as the bid was three
times higher than the previous year's contract, the Community Planning and Development
Director negotiated a reduced contract in the amount of $25.48 per lot/occurrence, in conjunction
with the 2021-2022 Residential/Miscellaneous Areas Snow Removal Contract for city owned
lots generally acquired through Iowa Code 657A, and
WHEREAS, B & B Lawn Care, Inc. submitted a written contract, bond and certificate of
insurance per the specifications heretofore adopted by this Council for said project with
Resolution No. 2021-737, after public hearing on November 15, 2021, in conjunction with the
2021-2022 Residential/Miscellaneous Areas Snow Removal Contract for city owned lots
generally acquired through Iowa Code 657A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the negotiated bid of B & B Lawn Care, Inc., in the amount of $25.48 per lot/occurrence,
in conjunction with the 2021-2022 Residential/Miscellaneous Areas Snow Removal Contract for
city owned lots generally acquired through Iowa Code 657A, is hereby accepted.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by B & B Lawn Care, Inc. in
conjunction with the 2021-2022 Residential/Miscellaneous Areas Snow Removal Contract for
city owned lots generally acquired through Iowa Code 657A, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
