RESOLUTION NO. 2021-727
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO PETERSON
CONTRACTORS, INC., OF REINBECK, IOWA, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $20,657,970.92, APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BOND, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH FY 2022 11TH STREET AND PARK
AVENUE BRIDGE REPLACEMENTS, CONTRACT NO. 1013,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, submitted a bid in an amount
not to exceed $20,657,970.92, in conjunction with the FY 2022 1 lth Street and Park Avenue
Bridge Replacements, Contract No. 1013, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., submitted a written contract, bond and certificate
of insurance, in conjunction with the FY 2022 1 lth Street and Park Avenue Bridge
Replacements, Contract No. 1013.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Peterson Contractors, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $20,657,970.92, in
conjunction with the FY 2022 1 lth Street and Park Avenue Bridge Replacements,
Contract No. 1013, is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Peterson Contractors,
Inc., in conjunction with the FY 2022 1 lth Street and Park Avenue Bridge Replacements,
Contract No. 1013, are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of November 2021.
