AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (a) COMPOSITION OF
SECTION 29-14 , COMMISSION RULES GENERALLY, OF ARTICLE II ,
PLANNING, PROGRAMMING AND ZONING COMMISSION, OF CHAPTER 29 ,
PLANNING AND ZONING GENERALLY; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A
NEW SUBSECTION (a) COMPOSITION OF SECTION 29-14 , COMMISSION
RULES GENERALLY, OF ARTICLE II , PLANNING, PROGRAMMING AND
ZONING COMMISSION, OF CHAPTER 29 , PLANNING AND ZONING
GENERALLY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
as follows:
That Subsection (a) Composition of Section 29-14, Commission
Rules Generally, of Article II , Planning, Programming and Zoning
Commission, of Chapter 29 , Planning and Zoning Generally, of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby
repealed in its entirety; that a new Subsection (a) Composition of
Section 29-14, Commission Rules Generally, of Article II ,
Planning, Programming and Zoning Commission, of Chapter 29 ,
Planning and Zoning Generally, of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby enacted in lieu thereof as
follows:
Sec. 29-14 . Commission rules generally.
(a) Composition. The City Planning, Programming and Zoning
commission shall consist of one ( 1) member of each of the
following boards and commission of the City of Waterloo; Community
Development Board, Human Rights Commission, and Waterloo School
Board; and ten ( 10 ) members from the city-at-large. The board and
commission representatives shall be selected by their respective
board or commission as a whole. The ten ( 10 ) commissioners from
the city-at-large shall be appointed by the mayor subject to the
approval of the council. The mayor shall also appoint one ( 1)
member from the City Council to serve as an ex officio member,
with no voting rights.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, on the 4th day of January, 1988 , and approved by
the Mayor on the 6th day of January, 1988 .
