AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1988 TRAFFIC CODE BY REPEALING SECTION 540,
OBEDIENCE TO OFFICIAL TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES, AND SECTION 543, THRU
STREETS; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW SECTION 540, OBEDIENCE TO
OFFICIAL TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES, AND SECTION 543, THRU STREETS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
That Section 540, Obedience to Official Traffic-Control Devices, and
Section 543, Thru Streets, of the 1988 Traffic Code are hereby repealed in
their entirety; and that new Section 540, Obedience to Official Traffic-Control
Devices, and Section 543, Thru Streets, are hereby enacted in lieu thereof as
follows:
SEC. 540. OBEDIENCE TO OFFICIAL TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES.
The driver of any vehicle and the motorman of any streetcar shall obey
the instructions of any official traffic-control devices as named herein unless
otherwise directed by a police officer, subject to the exceptions granted the
driver of an authorized emergency vehicle:
