AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1988 CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING ARTICLE II , THE
STREET COMMISSIONER OF CHAPTER 33 , STREETS AND
SIDEWALKS; AND BY ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW ARTICLE
II , ADMINISTRATION, TO CHAPTER 33 , STREETS AND
SIDEWALKS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
as follows:
That Article II , the Street Commissioner, of Chapter 33 ,
Streets and Sidewalks, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby repealed in its entirety; that a new
Article II , Administration, of Chapter 33 , Streets and Sidewalks,
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby
enacted in lieu thereof as follows:
ARTICLE II - ADMINISTRATION
Sec. 33-22 . Administrative Authority.
The Public Works Director and City Engineer, as appointed by
the Mayor and Council in accordance with the prescribed policies
and ordinances of the City, or their designees, shall be empowered
and authorized to enforce the provisions of this code that pertain
to streets and sidewalks.
Sec. 33-23 . Duties.
It shall be the duty of the Public Works Director to consult
with and follow the direction and advice of the Mayor and Council
and follow the policies of the City to maintain all streets,
alleys and highways within the City, as well as other duties as
assigned.
