AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1988 CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING CHAPTER 15 ,
FOOD AND FOOD HANDLERS; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A
NEW CHAPTER 15 , FOOD AND FOOD HANDLERS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA
as follows:
That Chapter 15 , Food and Food Handlers, of the 1988 Code or
Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby repealed in
its entirety; and enacting in lieu thereof a new Chapter 15 , Food
and Food Handlers, of the 1988 Code of Ordinances of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, as follows:
Chapter 15
FOOD AND FOOD HANDLERS
Sec. 15-1 . Enforcement Authority.
Pursuant to Chapter 170A, Code of Iowa ( 1989) , the Director
of the Department of Inspections and Appeals or the Chief
Inspector of the Inspections Division of the Department of
Inspections and Appeals of the State of Iowa shall have the
authority to enforce all provisions of the Iowa Food Service
Sanitation Code within the corporate city limits, unless an
agreement has been entered into with the local board of health
pursuant to Section 170A. 4, Code of Iowa (1989) .
Sec. 15-2 . Testing
Sample testing of food or milk products shall be performed,
as provided by the laws of this city and state, in a certified
lab or in the City's testing lab. A fee established by
resolution of the City Council shall be charged for each sample
taken and processed.
