AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1988 CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (a)
OF SECTION 1-16, VIOLATIONS, PENALTIES, AND ALTERNATIVE
RELIEF, OF ARTICLE II, MUNICIPAL INFRACTIONS, OF
CHAPTER 1, GENERAL PROVISIONS; AND ENACTING IN LIEU
THEREOF A NEW SUBSECTION (a) OF SECTION 1-16,
VIOLATIONS, PENALTIES, AND ALTERNATIVE RELIEF, OF
ARTICLE II, MUNICIPAL INFRACTIONS, OF CHAPTER 1,
GENERAL PROVISIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
IOWA:
That Subsection (a) of Section 1-16, Violations, Penalties,
and Alternative Relief, of Article II , Municipal Infractions, of
Chapter 1, General Provisions, of the 1988 Code of Ordinances of
the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby repealed in its entirety;
that a new Subsection (a) of Section 1-16, Violations, Penalties,
and Alternative Relief, of Article II, Municipal Infractions, of
Chapter 1, General Provisions, of the 1988 Code of Ordinances of
the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is hereby enacted in lieu thereof as
follows:
Sec. 1-16. Violations, penalties and alternative relief.
(a) Any violation of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa, is a municipal infraction. The civil penalty for
a municipal infraction shall be scheduled as follows:
First offense, $25.00;
Second offense, $50.00;
Third offense, $100.00; and
Fourth or more offense, up to $200.00.
