HomeMy WebLinkAbout3396-06/19/1985 ee .• ORDINANCE NO. 3 3 9 6 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34, UTILITIES, BY REPEALING SUBSECTIONS (1) , (2) AND (6) REGARDING SEWER RENTAL CHARGES OF SECTION 34-43; AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW SUBSECTIONS (1) , (2) AND (6) REGARDING SEWER RENTAL CHARGES OF SECTION 34-43. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA: That Subsections (1) , (2) and (6) regarding sewer rental charges of Section 34-43, under Chapter 34, Utilities , of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, are hereby repealed in their entirety; that new Subsections (1) , (2) and (6) regarding sewer rental charges of Section 34-43, under Chapter 34, Utilities, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo, are hereby enacted in lieu thereof as follows: (1) The maximum quarterly rate shall be based on one hundred (100) per cent of water consumption during the winter quarter as recorded by the Waterloo Waterworks. A winter quarter bill is a bill that is submitted for three (3) months, covering the months of November, December, January, February, March and April or any portion thereof. For those users of water being billed on a monthly basis by the Waterloo Waterworks, the maximum monthly rate shall be based on one hundred (100) per cent of the average water consumption for the months of December, January and February as recorded by the Waterloo Waterworks. This maximum quarterly rate shall apply only during the two summer quarters. Industrial users will be billed on actual water consumption rather than winter consumption unless winter consumption is approved by the superintendent. Any special or private contracts shall be metered at the user's expense. (2) Users who have their own private wells shall pay a minimum charge of $14.00 per quarter unless notified by the superintendent of the POTW that the users must comply with section 34-56.
