Absent: Cole, Getty, Greenwood. Motion carried.
Mayor Clark announced the work session with Mediacom scheduled for Monday at 4:00 p.m.
has been postponed.
Mr. Hart reported that former Councilperson Willie May Wright would be doing the pledge of
allegiance on Monday in honor of Black History Month.
Mr. Jones questioned whether the liquor/tobacco settlements were at a cost to the City. Mayor
Clark stated that the compliance checks are funded by a grant and the only expense to the City
would be the expense of our attorney preparing the settlements.
Mr. Hart asked what the fines for liquor/tobacco are and when we revoke license. Staff will get
back to him on the guidelines.
Mr. Schmitt asked for what the fees for Leisure Services were. Paul Huting explained the fees
that are being raised are minor and are available for Council to review.
Noel Anderson, Planning Director, reported that the development of land in the MidPort
Industrial and Business Park is a new project, but the River Walk from Mullan Avenue to Park
Avenue has been an ongoing project. The grants being applied for are 100% funded and there
will be no City match if we get them.
Debra Anderson, Building Official, explained that the contract with Maximum Sight and Sound
will cover the screens and projectors but will not be fixing the audio problem.
Michelle Weidner, Chief Financial Officer, explained that she is requesting to set the date of the
public hearing for the FYE2011 Budget. There will be an estimate in the paper in the next few
weeks.
With no further business before the Council, it was moved by Hart, seconded by Schmitt that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:19 a.m. Ayes: Four. Motion carried.
