Members absent: Getty, Greenwood.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Steve Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Five. Absent: Getty, Greenwood. Motion carried.
Mayor Pro Tem Reggie Schmitt reviewed items .pn the. Standing Committee agendas for
meetings scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
Mayor Pro Tem Reggie Schmitt reviewed items on the council agenda for Tuesday, January 20,
2009, and the following items were discussed.
Noel, Anderson, Community Planning & Development Director, explained the application with
the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division for Hazard Mitigation Grant
Program 1763 Structural Acquisition funds to acquire on a voluntary basis structures damaged or
destroyed during 2008 Floods, with 15 percent local share, and designate City Planner as
authorized representative. The 15 percent local share will be funded with Community
Development Black Grant funds.
Councilperson Steve Schmitt inquired on the status of University Avenue. Eric Thorson, City
Engineer, responded that the process continues with the Iowa Department of Transportation and
the City of Cedar Falls.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Cole, seconded by Hart that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:09 a.m. Ayes: Five. Absent: Getty, Greenwood. Motion carried.
