Mayor Hurley noted there are three council work sessions scheduled: one for the FYE2010 Budget, CodeRed emergency alerting system and proposed allocation of FY2010 hotel/motel funds. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, February 23, 2009 and the following items were discussed. Mayor Hurley asked if roof repairs are eligible for tax exemptions. Noel Anderson, Community Planning & Development Director, responded the Black Hawk County Assessor will consider if an CURA application is eligible for exemption. The assessor may change the amount that is eligible or may say none of it is eligible. The city's role is to certify that it is located in the CURA. Councilperson Steve Schmitt asked about the mini -grant program being proposed by the Convention & Visitors Bureau. The maximum amount any organization could receive from the mini -grant is $3,000.00, and the organization would have to go through the application process. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Hart, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 8:13 a.m. Ayes: Four. Absent: Getty, Greenwood, Welper. Motion carried.
