COUNCIL WORK SESSION
April 23, 2009

Members present: Getty, Greenwood, Steve Schmitt, Welper, Reggie Schmitt.
Members absent: Cole, Hart.
Moved by Steve Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Five. Absent: Cole, Hart. Motion carried.
Mayor Pro Tem Reggie Schmitt reviewed items on the Standing Committee agendas for
meetings scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2009.
Mayor Pro Tem Reggie Schmitt reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, April
27, 2009 and the following items were discussed.
Noel Anderson, Community Planning & Development Director, reported that the
acquisition contract with Waterloo Industrial Development Association is not for a
specific business, but would give us a lot that would be ready to build, and it currently
has water and sewer in front it.
Councilperson Steve Schmitt asked that regarding the Public Market building, is
Jefferson Street going to be re -opened. Noel Anderson, Community Planning &
Development Director, reported that on a standard day, it will be open to traffic, but that
the planners will close it for a large event.
Councilperson Getty asked about the Center For The Arts Roof Replacement. Louis
Cutwright, Building Official/Maintenance Administrator, reported that the Center For
The Arts roof has been done in phases and this is the last phase of the roof replacement.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Welper
that the meeting be adjourned at 8:10 a.m. Ayes: Five. Absent: Cole, Hart. Motion
carried.
