Members absent: Greenwood, Steve Schmitt Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Cole that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Five. Absent: Greenwood, Steve Schmitt. Motion carried. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the Standing Committee agendas for meetings scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2009. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, May 11, 2009 and the following items were discussed. Eric Thorson, City Engineer, reported that the change order for a net increase in the amount of $76,763.81 for work performed by Cedar Valley Corp. for the FY 2007 Recreational Trail — Cedar Bend to Mullan Avenue, Contract No. 714, is due to damage caused by the 2008 flood. The contractor did the repairs, and FEMA is paying for the work. Mayor Hurley explained that the right of entry agreement with Union Pacific Railroad is to use the end of East 7th Street for repairs to their bridge located between 6th and 7th Streets. The bridge was damaged during the 2008 floods. Councilperson Getty asked about the beer/liquor license application for Waterloo Expo Services Corporation, 317 West 3rd Street. Mayor Hurley noted that the board has been formed and they held their first meeting. Members of the board include: Paul Huting, Cammie Scully, Aaron Buzza, Jim Walsh and Ramada Inn has a member. With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Cole that the meeting be adjourned at 8:09 a.m. Ayes: Five. Absent: Greenwood, Steve Schmitt. Motion carried.
