Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, January 14, 2008 and the
following items were discussed.
Councilperson Greenwood asked about the city's ordinance regulating discharging chlorinated
water from swimming pools into the city's storm water system.
Don Temeyer, Community Planning and Development Director, reported that the city plans on
having a closure in place rather than removing all contaminants for the Construction Machinery

Councilperson Schmitt asked if the Welter de -annexation request is on the agenda. Mayor
Hurley responded that the attorneys continue with negotiations with the Welters.
Councilperson Schmitt questioned the terms of office for the members being reappointed to the

such as a lack of good candidates.
Council Members discussed the lack of mail being delivered on Franklin Street and the city's
position and/or lack of authority concerning delivery of mail. It was suggested that the property
owners should at least put sand down for traction. Staff members reported that Mr. Collins has
cleared his sidewalk, but not the property owners on each side of Mr. Collins. Staff is trying to
contact these homeowners.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Steve Schmitt
that the meeting be adjourned at 8:22 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
