Members present: Mayor Hurley, Cole, Getty, Hart, Steve Schmitt, Welper, Reggie
Schmitt.
Members absent: Greenwood.
Moved by Reggie Schmitt, seconded by Steve Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the Standing Committee agendas for meetings
scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2008.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, July 28, 2008 and the
following items were discussed.
Mayor Hurley stated he wants to add an Executive Session for acquisitions after Oral
Presentations.
Councilperson Welper asked if there was a timetable for getting the Dam Rehabilitation
project completed. Michelle Weidner, Chief Financial Officer, stated it is December
2009. Mayor Hurley stated they need to get an extension on it.
Councilperson Hart asked about what could be done about the tall grass at the older
businesses on the northeast side. Councilperson Hart asked if there has been any
communication about how to hold people accountable for dumping things.
Councilperson Hart stated there is old furniture dumped at the former Chamberlain site
and it is still sitting there. There are also properties with tall grass. Tim Shea,
Superintendent of Waste Management Services, stated once there is a complaint, the
property owner has 10 days to get the grass mowed. It's a long process. Mayor Hurley
commented about getting a task force together and finding some money and going out
and cleaning up.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Welper, seconded by
Reggie Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 8:28 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent:
Greenwood. Motion carried.
