Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Five. Absent: Kincaid, Greenwood. Motion carried. Mayor Hurley reviewed the Standing Committee agendas for Monday, January 8, 2007. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, January 8, 2007. Greenwood now present at 8:03 a.m. The forgiveness of demolition assessments for 516 Rhey Street was reviewed. This item was tabled at the January 2, 2007 council meeting in order to obtain additional information for council. Don Temeyer, Community Planner and Development Director, reported the demolition costs should not have been assessed against the property because emergency CDBG funds were used to demolish the garage at 516 Rhey Street. Mayor Hurley reported the National Wrestling Coaches Association is requesting discretionary hotel/motel funds in the amount of $3,000.00 to support the National Dual Wrestling Championships hosted at UNI on January 13-14, 2007. The Association lost their national sponsor, the Hershey Company, due to missing the required deadline for application. The money will be used for costs associated with national broadcasting and administrative overhead. The Association needs $35,000.00 and they are asking a number of sources for funding. Councilperson Welper inquired on the bills payment for the Sink Creek Watershed Study and the Riverfront Renaissance Project. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that the meeting be adjourned at 8:11 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Kincaid. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
