Members absent: Greenwood. Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Kincaid that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the Standing Committee agendas for Monday, January 22, 2007. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, January 22, 2007 and the following items were discussed: Ned DeBerg, Fire Chief, explained bids will be opened on Monday for the emergency generators for the six fire stations. Purchase of the generators will be through a Fire Act grant, with the city required to pay 20 percent. Estimated costs of the generators is $260,000.00. This is the third time that bids will be accepted on this project as the other bid opening the vendors did not meet the specifications. Cammie Scully, Director of Cultural & Arts Commission, explained that the change order for a net increase in the amount of $12,581.00 for the Youth Pavilion is to remove a railing and put in a six foot showroom to display the ceramic collection. This is part of renovation of the old part of the building. Don Temeyer, Community Planning & Development Director, explained the changes to the Zoning Ordinance as it relates to enclosing existing porches. This will help preserve housing stock in older neighborhoods as it will allow them to enclose the porch and use as an addition to the home. The change gives the citizens more options and a little more flexibility. Mayor Hurley reported a traffic ordinance change will be added to the agenda. Sandie Greco, Superintendent of Traffic Operations, explained that the amendment is to add two additional signals at the intersection of Isle of Capri and Shaulis and Dysart Road and Shaulis Road. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Cole that the meeting be adjourned at 8:14 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
