Monday, February 5, 2007.
Greenwood now present at 8:02 a.m.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, February 5, 2007 and the
following items were discussed.
Don Temeyer, Community Planning & Development Director, discussed the item from the
Planning Department requesting to acquire three parcels of property from the Black Hawk
County Board of Supervisors. The properties were scheduled for tax sale, but the county is
giving the city an opportunity to acquire them.
Brad Hagen, Airport Director, discussed the agreement with Earth Tech for design services in
conjunction with the rehabilitation of the airport parking lot. The work includes overlaying the
western half of the parking lot with 1 Y2" asphalt. The eastern half of the parking lot will be
crack filled and covered with an oil rejuvenator to blacken the surface.
Lou Cutwright, Building Official/Maintenance Administrator, reviewed the project at the Five
Sullivan Brothers Convention Center to replace doors, hardware and handrail. A study was
completed of the doors. Most of them are 35 years old. Some will be replaced, new hardware
will be installed and a new handrail will be installed on the front step. When the center was
built, the handrail was not required, and has been grandfathered in. This is a proactive step and
will ensure safety for the users of the center.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Cole that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:13 1.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
