Members present: Gunderson, Greenwood, Getty, Cole, Schmitt, Kincaid.
Members absent: Welper.
Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Greenwood that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved.
Ayes: Welper, Kincaid. Motion carried.
Mayor Pro Tem Schmitt reviewed items on the Standing Committee agendas for meetings
scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2007.
Mayor Pro Tem Schmitt reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, May 14, 2007 and
the following items were discussed.
Kincaid now present at 8:03 a.m.
Sandie Greco, Superintendent of Traffic Operations, reported that that the agreement with the
IDOT for traffic safety improvement funding in the amount of $22,000 for West Fourth Street
and Allen Street will be used to put in flashing lights and additional signage.
Councilperson Getty asked if the city has an ordinance relating to basketball hoops placed on
city streets. Police Chief Jennings responded that there is no specific ordinance, but the Police
Department can use the ordinance section relating to disorderly conduct. The Police Department
generally gives an oral warning, and if no response, the Police Department picks up the
basketball hoop.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that
the meeting be adjourned at 8:08 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Welper. Motion carried.
