Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Kincaid that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the Standing Committee agenda for meetings scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2007. Mayor Hurley reported that the UNI Business Center on East 4th Street is requesting additional funding for the MyEntreNet Initiative program. UNI Business Center has had meetings with the mayor of Cedar Falls and Steve Dust from Cedar Valley Alliance. The City of Cedar Falls may contribute some funding for this program, but they want to see what Waterloo is going to do. Mayor Hurley reviewed the Business Center's benchmarks for the past six months. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, June 4, 2007, and the following items were discussed. Bids will be opened at Monday's meeting for the Broadway Street Traffic Detector Loops. Sandie Greco, Superintendent of Traffic Operations, reported that they are installing loops rather than cameras because it would be too expensive to put in cameras. Don Temeyer, Community Planning & Development Director, reported that the Real Estate Purchase Agreement with Loveland Waterfalls, Inc. to purchase city -owned property located at 203 and 209 Jefferson Street and the abutting vacant lot for a cost of $582,000.00 is the apprised price. The car wash building will be will be closed down and demolished hopefully by this fall. The city will take over the lease agreement for the small building containing the bar. Don Temeyer, Community Planning & Development Director, spoke regarding the development agreement with Crystal Distribution Services to purchase property located at the former Rath area, including the former bar building along with portions of the former railroad land and a vacant lot. Crystal would like to redevelop the small building to house Rath memorabilia and be a showcase for the former packing plant. Crystal would convey to the city four lots they own along Sycamore Street across the alley from the Veridian Credit Union. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that the meeting be adjourned at 8:16 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
